Rich & Susy Riggle - Fall 2002 |
||||||||
| Riggles Retrievers is a family owned kennel located in East-Central Illinois. Our passion for Goldens began 25 years ago (when our children were young) with the purchase of our first puppy, Buck. He swam in the river with the kids, accompanied them to the 'ole fishing hole, and literally stole our hearts. From then on we have been "hooked on Goldens". Our first client said it best - "Owning a Golden Retriever is a spiritual experience". | ||||||||

This Just In! |
||||||||
| Here's a recent e-mail sent by one of our "adoptive families": | ||||||||
| "Hi Susy and Rich! I've been meaning to drop you a note for some time now with an update on our darling Winston. In short, he is doing great! I must say, I knew Goldens generally get a lot of attention when out and about-- especially beautiful ones-- but I wasn't prepared for how often total strangers stop me to comment on Winston. "Your dog is GORGEOUS! Where did you get him?" I must hear this 2-3 times a week, no kidding. Every walk, every playground, every dog park. Of course I tell them exactly where I got him! Besides his looks, people are also constantly commenting on his demeanor. He is an EXTREMELY well-behaved, gentle, intelligent dog, especially for just 6 mos. old. Our vet thinks he would be a perfect candidate to be a therapy dog. The groomer said she's never had a puppy so good on his first visit. The puppy kindergarten where we take classes once a week uses Winston as the "demonstration" dog because he's so smart, and if there are shy dogs, they have Winston play with them because he's so sweet and gentle. As you can tell, we think he is most extraordinary-- your vet was right in saying this was one of the best litters he'd ever seen. I keep hoping one day I'll run into one of his brothers or sisters from this area; they must be doing well also. In any case, I just wanted to let you know that there was never a dog so admired (or loved!), and that we all just adore him. He is my constant companion. Here are some recent pictures for your scrapbook. Hope all is well with you, and I imagine the new babies are really keeping you busy! Happy Holiday Season, Jill, Steve, Connor, and Winston" | ||||||||
